I have a family that is quite a unique family. The kind of family that requires a tour guide to get through the family tree! Both of my biological parents were married for a couple of years, when they lost spouses due to illness. Together, they had 4 little boys. After they married they had 3 more children. It has always seemed as though we belonged together, even though we don’t really look like it. I didn’t even realize I was in a “blended” family until I was a teen. This is when I came to understand that the true deep love that is felt in families does not come because of blood relation. As a child, I was very active and a challenge for my mother. I loved to play games, spend time outdoors and mimic my older brothers. My favorite activity was going camping with my family. Throughout my school years we often had a foreign exchange student staying with us. Even from that early age I had pictured my future family with different colored children in it. In high school I wanted to be a part of everything. I was on the soccer, swim and water polo teams. I played the bass in orchestra and was in student government positions. I have been told that I am now a thoughtful, driven, organized, and fun adult. After graduating high school I went to College and studied business and sign language. I lived in Japan for a summer, then went on a mission to England. I have now finished a degree in Dental Hygiene and currently practice as a Dental Hygienist.
